Work Hardening Programs
What is a Work Hardening Program?
Work Hardening Programs are aimed at improving the physical condition of an injured worker who is in the process of returning to the work environment.
Healthcore will devise an individualised physical conditioning program that simulates the physical demands of the worker's normal duties. This provides the worker with an opportunity to practice and improve their performance of these duties in a safe and risk free environment.
Each program is tailored to suit the individual needs of the worker by a specialist occupational Physiotherapist. A thorough physical assessment of the worker must be performed first to determine the worker's current functional capacity (the worker's physical capability). The physical requirements of the worker's job are then determined through consultation and assessment. The Physiotherapist will then devise an exercise program with the aim of restoring the worker's strength, endurance, flexibility and general cardiovascular fitness levels.
